Commander Qom.
Commander Qom (コム長官, Komu Chōkan) (Toshiaki Nishizawa) is the commander of Galactic Union Patrol, the father of Mimi and the uncle of Shelly. He lives on Bird Planet and helps Gavan (Retsu), giving him information and training him to beat the Makuu. He and Gavan can communicate through a giant screen on the Dolgrian. Throughout his tenure as Commander, he also helped Sharivan (Den) and Shaider (Dai) as well. Before he retired to pass his position to Retsu, he also helped the Next Generation Sheriffs, Gavan Type G (Geki), Sharivan 2 (Kai) and Shaider 2 (Shu).

Portrayal[]
Commander Qom was portrayed by late Toshiaki Nishizawa (西沢 利明 Nishizawa Toshiaki?). He reprised his role for the final time in Uchuu Keiji Gavan: The Movie, which premiered only six months before his death in April 2013.

- In the Philippine dub, he was renamed as Commander Com and was voiced by three different voice actors in the three broadcasting systems. In Uchuu Keiji Gavan which was dubbed in ABC-5 now known as TV5 in 1996, he was voiced by Roger Aquino while in Uchuu Keiji Shaider, he was voiced by the late Eddie Ilarde in the ABS-CBN dub and during the replays in IBC-13 from 1992 to 1998 and the defunct HERO channel until 2018. In the remake version in 2005 at the GMA Network, he was voiced by Vincent Gutierrez who also voices Dai Sawamura.
